چکیده

Abstract Background Acceptable alternative eco-friendly tools in the present study were tested to control root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita , on greenhouse-cultivated vegetables. The nematicidal effect of rhizobacteria ( Pseudomonas and Serratia ), egg parasitic fungus Purpureocillium lilacinum abamectin Streptomyces avermitilis 3 botanicals (colocynth, Citrullus colocynthis ; moringa, Moringa oleifera marigold, Tagetes erecta L.) singly or combination was against M. comparison with emamectin benzoate. Results In vitro treatments revealed that hatching juvenile mortality influenced by type bioagents, plant species botanicals, exposure time. All bioagents displayed potential via their ovicidal larvicidal action J2 incognita. Three 5 days post-treatment, benzoate more effective than P. C. inhibiting hatching: 96.31 94.88%; 95.79 94.05%; 94.11 94.46%; 85.54 87.28%; 88.87 84.30%, respectively. On other hand, after 10 days, gave highest inhibition percentage (99.00%), followed (89.25%). However, difference insignificant compared rhizobacteria, (88.69%; p ? 0.05). Moreover, 100.0, 96.80, 91.60% treatment, showed a lower mortality. Under greenhouse conditions, antagonism towards application mixture biocontrol agents controlling single treatments. Conclusions and/or most not only decreasing galls reproduction but also increasing growth tomato parameters control. various including might be strategy phytonematodes protected agricultural areas.

Root - knot nematode ( Meloidogyne incognita ) management using botanicals in tomato ( Lycopersicon esculentum )

Root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita, is the major limiting factor in tomato production in many regions of the world including Ethiopia. For its management, different plant species (botanicals) are being tried in different forms as an alternative to nematicides. The nematicidal potential of baker tree (Milletiaferruginea), bitter leaf (Vernonia amygodalina), parthenium (Parthenium hysterop...

EFFICACY OF TWO ORGANIC AMENDMENTS AND A NEMATICIDE TO MANAGE ROOT-KNOT NEMATODE (Meloidogyne incognita) OF TOMATO (Lycopersicon esculentum L.)

A field experiment was conducted in two consecutive years to find out the efficacy of poultry refuse (PR), mustard oilcake (MOC), and Furadan 5G for the management of root-knot disease (Meloidogyne incognita) of tomato. Soil was treated with PR @ 3 and 5 t/ha, MOC @ 0.3 and 0.6 t/ha 3 weeks before transplanting and Furadan 5G @ 40 kg/ha on the day of transplanting of tomato seedlings. PR @ 3 t/...

The Influence of Meloidogyne incognita Density on Susceptible Tomato

The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of increasing initial population density (Pi) of Meloidogyne incognita on nematode reproduction and growth of susceptible tomato (Lycopersicom esculentum cv. Round-41) at 25°C± 2 in growth chamber. 21-days-old tomato seedlings transplanted in13-cm dia. earthen pot was inoculated with Pi including 250, 500, 1000, 1500 eggs of M. incognita. Nema...

Biomass Partitioning in Tomato Plants Infected with Meloidogyne incognita.

Tomato plants were inoculated with Meloidogyne incognita at initial populations (Pi) of 0, 1, 10, 50, 100, and 200 (x 1,000) eggs per plant and maintained in a growth chamber for 40 days. Total fresh biomass (roots + shoots) at harvest was unchanged by nematode inoculation with Pi of 1 x 10 eggs or less. Reductions in fresh shoot weight with increasing Pi coincided with increases in root weight...
